2. Scope
This policy applies to:
- Students using our platform
- Parents and guardians
- Tutors and staff working with Reko Study
3. Key Principles
- Zero Tolerance: We will not tolerate abuse, exploitation, bullying, or discrimination.
- Best Interests of the Child: The welfare of children and young people always comes first.
- Transparency: All safeguarding concerns will be dealt with promptly, fairly, and in accordance with the law.
4. Safer Recruitment
All tutors who provide live online teaching through Reko Study®:
- Hold an Enhanced DBS check (UK) or equivalent clearance.
- Provide references and proof of identity.
- Agree to follow our Tutor Code of Conduct.
5. Online Safety
- Lessons are delivered only through approved secure platforms.
- One-to-one lessons require parental/guardian consent and oversight.
- Personal contact details must not be exchanged between tutors and students.
6. Reporting Concerns
If you are worried about a child’s safety or wellbeing, you should:
- Contact us directly via our contact page.
- If urgent, contact your local safeguarding authority or dial 999 (UK emergency services).
7. Responsibilities
- Tutors must maintain professional boundaries, follow safeguarding training, and report any concerns immediately.
- Parents/Guardians should ensure students have a safe environment during online sessions.
- Reko Study Team will investigate and act upon all safeguarding reports.
8. Review
This policy is reviewed annually or sooner if legislation or guidance changes.
