How we collect, use, and protect personal information at Reko Study.

1) Who we are (Data Controller)

Reko Study® is operated by Reko Apps Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”). For privacy questions or requests, please contact us or email dev@rekoapps.com .

2) Scope

This policy explains how we handle personal data when you use the Reko Study website and services (GCSE Maths tutorials, quizzes, games, printable resources) and any optional paid features (e.g., premium access or online tutoring).

3) Data we collect

  • Contact details you submit (e.g., name, email) and message content.
  • Technical data such as IP address, device/browser info, and basic event logs for security and performance.
  • Cookies & similar tech for preferences, features, analytics, and—if you consent—advertising.
  • Account & billing (when applicable) to register, authenticate, and process payments.
  • Tutoring session data (when applicable) such as scheduling, attendance, and progress notes. We do not require recordings by default.

4) How we use data & lawful bases

  • Provide and improve the site (quizzes, games, features) — Legitimate interests.
  • Respond to enquiries/support — Legitimate interests / Contract.
  • Security & abuse prevention (rate limiting, fraud/spam defenses) — Legitimate interests / Legal obligation.
  • Analytics to understand usage and improve content — Consent where required (UK/EEA).
  • Advertising (AdSense) — Consent for personalised ads where required; non-personalised ads may rely on Legitimate interests.
  • Premium & Tutoring (registration, authentication, payments, scheduling) — Contract.
  • Compliance & enforcement (legal duties, enforce Terms) — Legal obligation / Legitimate interests.

We use essential cookies for core functionality and (subject to your choice) analytics and advertising cookies. On your first visit you’ll see a banner to Accept or Reject non-essential cookies. You can change your choices anytime on our Cookie Policy page.

Rejecting non-essential cookies disables personalised ads and analytics but won’t affect basic site use.

6) Advertising (Google AdSense)

We may show ads provided by Google and its partners. Where required, we ask your consent for personalised ads. You can manage Google ad settings here and learn how Google uses data on partner sites here.

7) Analytics

We may use analytics (e.g., Google Analytics) to measure usage and improve our materials. In regions where consent is required, analytics only runs after you opt in. We don’t use analytics to identify you personally.

We don’t sell personal data. We share it only with service providers under contract to help us operate the Service:

9) International transfers & security

Your data may be processed in the UK, EEA, US, or other locations where our providers operate. Where data is transferred internationally, we use appropriate safeguards (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses). We apply technical and organisational measures to keep data secure.

10) Retention

  • Contact messages: up to 24 months from last interaction.
  • Technical/security logs: typically 12–24 months unless needed longer for investigation.
  • Account/billing (when applicable): while your account is active and as required by tax/accounting laws.
  • Tutoring records (when applicable): ~3 years; Safeguarding records may be kept 6+ years where required.

After these periods we delete or anonymise data.

11) Your rights

Under UK/EEA GDPR (where applicable) you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your data; restrict or object to certain processing; and withdraw consent at any time (where processing is based on consent). To exercise these rights, please contact us. You can also complain to the UK ICO at ico.org.uk.

12) Children’s privacy

Reko Study is an educational site. Children under 13 should use the site with a parent or teacher’s supervision. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 without parental consent. For paid tutoring, a parent/guardian must be the contracting party.

We may update this policy from time to time. We’ll post updates here and revise the “Last updated” date above.
